In my kids' continuing efforts to make me look bad for ever yelling at them for anything, they put on the following performance first thing in the morning the other day:
M-: What d'you wanna play with me?
D-: I dunno, what do you want to play with me?
M-: Ummmmm...
D-: How about Duplos?
M-: Yeah, yeah! Duplos! That'd be fun.
D-: Okay, let's go play Duplos together.
M-: Okay!!
To drive the point home, they then walked off holding hands.

Kids sure do have a way of screwing up your day.
damn them for being all cute and stuff!
Man, they were totally messing with you, weren't they? That's funny...in my house, it starts all happy and fun like that, but you just have to wait 5 minutes and it will all turn around.
That was just a distraction, part of their plot to get you off your game.
I love when they like each other:) Then mine go back to beating on each other:(
ok...i laughed hard at that one. hard i say! so funny.
That's just Evil.
Obviously a plot to weaken your Defenses. I'd sleep with one eye open if'n I were you, Dan.
The other shoe always drops.
I had to read this three times to get that it was cute and sweetness. Our 7 year old has become increasingly effective with his use of sarcasm, so "That'd be fun" kept confusing me.
I have no idea where he learned to be all sarcastical.
I've read that kids who are abused by their parents often grow close over the years....
My kids are always like this. NEVER fighting. NEVER arguing. NEVER slipping syrup of ipecac in the others drinks. Nothing like that. Just roses over here.
they were testing you...to see if you were really listening or just have the "ready, shoot, aim " reaction. Gotta learn 'em early.
That cracked me up! You should be happy in knowing you passed on a great sense of humor to your kids.
Those are the parts that make it all worth it and squishy. Squishy in a good way.
