A conversation with D-: Mickey's cousin, Messy Mouse

Since it's a Friday, I figured I'd just share a little exchange between my 5-year-old son and me before letting you get on with your weekend:

Me (about 3 minutes after D- received his Mickey Mouse pancakes at a restaurant): How did you manage to get whipped cream on your shoulder?

D- (baffled after turning to look, thereby wiping more cream from his chin onto his shoulder): I don't know?

You may enjoy my previous D- conversations, (2YO daughter) M- conversations, and (wife) J- conversations.

ok...this completely baffled me as well but for totally different reasons. i read it as M asking the question. i couldn't believe she would word it that way! i was so impressed. then i reread and realized that you were doing the asking. whew...

This seems like a good time to attempt the hold shaving cream-in-the-hand-tickle-the-nose trick.

And then ask him how he got shaving cream all over his face.

Oh my, it's like the blond joke. How did you get that crick in your neck?
Blond (flipping hair side to side): I dunno.

Should the situation ever arise, never, never, never let yourself think it's probably just chocolate on the leg.

My daughter sneaks off to have cookies with her dad, and can never figure out how I know, immediately.

I'm not psychic, she just can't manage to eat cookies without getting chocolate on her face!

And you blame your kid on getting messy when it's obviously your fault. Go make up for making him wipe whipped cream on his shoulder by taking him to watch Harry Potter.

HAAAAAAAAAAAA! That is so great. I have 4 kids that I think have the same talent.

Awesome. That's something you'd see either Larry or Curly do on the Three Stooges. I think you won that one.
