Name that tune!

At the behest of my wife J-, who conceived this post, I bring you a list of children's songs as identified by my extremely verbal 1-year-old daughter M- (who can sing most of them in their entirety):

• Din Dan Don

• Ants

• Ebbysee's

• My Son

• Weensy Eensy

And finally, the true tiebreaker:

• Tree-Ba's-ful

How many can you recognize? I would be floored if anyone who didn't know her got all six, and very impressed if someone got four.

I have an unfair advantage, so I will refrain from taking part in the contest. I am commenting to say happy birthday to M-! you are two now and I love you to pieces!!!

I'm no good at this--my 6 yr old was never a fan of kids songs, or any other song, for that matter. Except the Star Spangled Banner. He sings that ALL the time!

I'll be upset if at least one of those isn't a Hoops and Yoyo song.

I think I know a couple of them but am not sure enough to even guess!

1. "Frère Jacques"
2. "The Ants go Marching"
3. "The ABC song"
4. "Diddle Diddle Dmpling (my son Jon)"
5. "Itsy-Bitsy Spider"
6. "Ba-Ba Blacksheep"

It seems as if M has absconded with the Tater's playlist. Or visa-versa.

oh, how shall i address you? the master of my master? (you do know i am now micro's minion, who is your minion, right??)

I am so mad at myself for not checking earlier, so I could post my answers and look smart. The only one I couldn't figure out was Din Dan Don, because my little girl used to sing, "Dinner Gone" in the place of bells chiming. She's going to look like an idiot in kindergarten, because we're too enamored with her to correct it.

I'm not reading what other people wrote...I think I get most of them, but you got me on "My Son"--is it a song about Jesus or something? Very cute. :)

Well folks, this competition was way hotter than I ever expected (at the last minute, I turned the last one from Widowmaker to mere Challenge), but still we have one clear winner, and that's cIII with all 6 correct.

Honorable mentions go to Middle Aged Woman, Rikki, & Miss Grace, who got 5 out of 6; and Seriously Mama & wheelsonthebus, who got 4 out of 6.

Thanks for playing, everyone!

As my sister noted above, it was indeed M-'s 2nd birthday, and she already seems to have moved into phase 3 of her plan for world domination.

So, you know, keep an eye out for a traitorous knife to the shin one of these days.

I am seconding the request for music videos starring the now 2 year old M! And you know you've "made it" when your minions have minions!
