To deck a mockingbird

My 4-year-old son D- recently sat down with his 2-year-old sister M- to very cutely read from a little book with an adorably harmless bird on the cover, and, taking a page from Atticus Finch, he made sure to pass along sage bits of advice like the following (delivered in a ridiculously saccharine voice):

"Do you see those sharp claws? If you would bop that bird on the head, it would take them and... [demonstrating] smear across your face, and you'd be bleeding. So, don't ever punch a bird in the face."

Unless, that is, if you were to punch said Bird in the face hard enough to render it unconscious.

Then, you could dance about, mocking it for the coward it really is.

Then put salt on it's Tail so it couldn't fly away.

Hey. It works in cartoons.

Their minds are fascinating. I'd love to see them try to catch that unfortunate bird...

Plus bird have beaks, so if you punch them, you might just jam you fist in the beak, then they'd claw you, too.

Big brothers are so wise.

So ... the top commentors thing, is it purely quantity or do high quality comments get bonus points? And what about hateful, little means comments (though I'd be too afraid to leave a mean comment, unless I did it anonymously, but then I wouldn't get the points, not that I have anything mean to say. Here)?

And do you judge spelling and grammar?

He knew what she was planning and had to warn her of the consequences. Or did he by chance have a scratch on his face?

You haven't been letting him watch old Looney Toons cartoons have you? Tweety really let Sylvester have it.

Outstanding, really. Your son and I could have some cool conversations.

Telling M never to punch a bird in the face is sage advice.

Also, don't ever slap a crocodile.

Don't taunt an elephant.

And never, under any circumstance, zerbert a mongoose.
